Frequently Asked Questions

What is a QR code?

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a square barcode that phones can read with their camera. It can hold a web address, Wi-Fi login, contact card, text and other data. It was invented in 1994 by Denso Wave to track car parts, and today almost every smartphone can scan one without an extra app.

Are Ziqeno QR codes free?

Yes. Every QR type, design option and download format is free, for personal and commercial use. There is no paid plan. Ziqeno is supported by advertising.

Do Ziqeno QR codes expire?

No. Ziqeno creates static QR codes, which store the content directly in the pattern. They don’t pass through our servers, so there is nothing we could switch off. A code keeps working as long as what it points to — a web page, phone number or Wi-Fi network — still exists.

Do I need an account?

No. You don’t need to sign up, log in or give an email address to create, download, scan or decode QR codes.

Can I create a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Yes. Use the Wi-Fi QR code generator, enter your network name, password and security type, and download the code. Guests scan it with their phone camera to join. The password is processed only in your browser.

Can I create a QR code for a website?

Yes. Paste the address into the URL QR code generator. The link is stored exactly as you entered it, with no redirect through Ziqeno.

Can I add a logo?

Yes. Open “Customize design” and select Add logo, or use the QR Code Styler. Ziqeno switches to High error correction and limits the logo size so the code stays scannable. Always test it before printing.

Can I download QR codes?

Yes, as PNG (with an optional transparent background), JPEG, or vector SVG for print and design software. You can choose sizes from 256 to 2048 pixels for PNG and JPEG.

Are QR codes generated in my browser?

Yes. QR codes are created by code running on your device. What you type, your logo and any images you scan or decode aren’t sent to Ziqeno. The contact form is the exception: messages you send through it go via the Web3Forms service, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

A static code contains the destination itself. A dynamic code contains a short link to a service that redirects to the destination, which lets the owner change the destination or count scans later, but it depends on that service staying active. Ziqeno makes static codes. Read the full comparison of static vs dynamic QR codes.

Can I scan a QR code without an app?

Usually, yes. The camera app on iPhones and most Android phones recognizes QR codes automatically. On a computer, or a phone that doesn’t, you can use the Ziqeno QR code scanner in your browser or upload a picture to the decoder.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

The most common causes are low contrast (light code on a light background), a missing blank margin, printing too small for the amount of content, a logo that is too big, or a glossy surface that reflects light. Try black on white, keep the quiet zone, print larger and shorten long links. If the code links to a website, also check that the address is correct.

What QR code size should I use for printing?

Make the code at least one tenth as wide as the scanning distance: about 2–3 cm for a business card held in the hand, 5 cm for a table card, and 30 cm or more for a poster read from 3 meters. Download an SVG, or a PNG of at least 1024 pixels, so the print stays sharp.

Can I use Ziqeno QR codes commercially?

Yes. You can use the codes you create on products, packaging, menus, ads and any other commercial material. Make sure you have the right to use any logo you add.

Does Ziqeno track who scans my code?

No. Static codes open their content directly, so scans never reach Ziqeno. If you need scan statistics for a website link, add campaign parameters to the URL and measure visits in your own analytics.
