QR Code Scanner
Scan a QR code with your camera or from a photo or screenshot. Everything happens in your browser.
Scan with your camera
Point your camera at a QR code. Your camera is used only in your browser to scan the QR code.
This browser can’t use the camera here. Upload a photo or screenshot of the code instead.
The browser asks for camera permission only after you select Start camera. The camera turns off as soon as a code is found or you leave the page.
Scan from an image
Images are decoded in your browser and never uploaded.
How to scan with this page
- Select Start camera. Your browser asks for permission the first time. Choose Allow.
- Hold the code inside the frame. Keep it flat and well lit, about 15 to 30 cm from the camera.
- Review the result. The camera turns off once a code is found. Links are shown first and only open when you choose to open them.
Privacy and safety
Your camera is used only in your browser to scan the QR code. Video frames are analyzed on your device and are never uploaded or recorded. The camera turns off when a code is found, when you stop it, or when you leave or hide the page.
Because QR codes can point anywhere, this scanner never opens a decoded link by itself. Check the address before you visit it, especially for codes on parking meters, stickers or unexpected messages, which are common places for scams.
If scanning doesn’t work
- Camera blocked: allow camera access for this site in your browser’s settings, then reload the page.
- No camera found: take a photo with another device and use “Scan from an image” instead.
- Code not detected: move closer, add light, avoid glare, and make sure the whole code — including its blank border — is in view.
Most phones can also scan QR codes in the built-in camera app. See how to scan a QR code on iPhone, Android and computers.
