Higher levels survive scratches, dirt and logos better, but make the code denser. Medium suits most uses; choose High for logos or outdoor print.

Design choices that keep codes readable

Phones need to tell dark modules from light ones and find the three corner squares. As long as those two things stay clear, there’s plenty of room for style.

    • Color: use a dark code on a light background with a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1. Brand colors usually work if they are deep enough. Ziqeno shows the ratio when it gets low.
    • Module shapes: rounded and dot modules scan well at normal sizes. For very small prints, square modules are the safest.
    • Corner styles: rounded and circular corners keep their recognizable three-ring structure, so scanners still find them.
    • Margin: keep a blank quiet zone around the code. Four modules is the standard; two is usually enough on a plain background.

Select Add logo to place an image in the center of the code. The image is resized and drawn in your browser; it’s never uploaded. When you add a logo, error correction switches to High, because the modules behind the logo are removed and need to be rebuilt from the error correction data.

Ziqeno checks exactly how much of each error correction block your logo would cover. If the logo is too large to scan reliably, it’s reduced automatically and you’ll see a note. Square logos with a simple shape and some empty space around them work best.

Large logos or low contrast can make QR codes harder to scan. Test your QR code before printing or publishing it.

    Vector SVG for print

The SVG download contains real vector shapes for every module and corner, so designers can scale it to any size and place it in brand materials. If you add a logo, it is embedded as an image inside the SVG.
